About Me

Latifa A. Williams, LMHC- Assistant Director

Hi, I'm Latifa Williams. I’m a licensed mental health counselor and would like to thank you for taking a few moments to learn a bit more about me.  I’m originally from the Bronx and have lived in various places throughout the state of New York. As a child, I always knew that I wanted to help people. Initially, I thought I’d become a doctor however about the age of ten, I decided that I wanted to become a therapist. I set upon that path by volunteering, majoring in Psychology, and obtaining a degree in Mental Health Counseling  from SUNY- Albany.

For over 5 years, I worked with children, adolescents, adults  and families in counseling service agencies, a behavioral health clinic, emergency services, schools and community-based organizations. Most recently, I’ve worked in an administrative role in the field of child welfare and have returned to providing counseling services to adolescents and adults. I also believe in the importance of serving communities and advocate to change conditions that impact the health and well-being of individuals and families.

Throughout my career, I’ve remained committed to improving the lives of individuals so that they can be their best self and enjoy this journey called life. Regardless of the issues that have led you to seek counseling, I’m here to help you through this process in a supportive, non-judgmental way and help you to achieve your life goals. I look forward to hearing from you!  I provide therapy in New York City and White Plains, NY.
