Hi, I'm Latifa. I’m a licensed mental health counselor and would like to thank you for taking a few moments to learn a bit more about me. I’m originally from the Bronx, NY and have lived in various places throughout the state of New York. As a child, I always knew that I wanted to help people. Initially, I thought I’d become a doctor however about the age of ten, I decided that I wanted to become a therapist. I set upon that path by volunteering, majoring in Psychology, and obtaining a degree in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY- Albany.
I’ve worked with children, adolescents, adults and families in counseling service agencies, a behavioral health clinic, emergency services, schools and community-based organizations. Further, I’ve served in an administrative role in the field of child welfare for nearly fifteen years.
I believe in the importance of supporting communities and advocating for change by participating in local activism and serving on the board of a social justice organization.
Throughout my career, I’ve remained committed to improving the lives of people so that they can be their best self and enjoy this journey called life. Regardless of the issues that have led you to seek therapy, I’m here to help you through this process in a supportive, non-judgmental way so that you may achieve your life goals. I look forward to hearing from you!
